Digital Photography

This three day course covers all the basics of the digital camera, the use
of digital photography at crime scenes, case law, and techniques to
ensure quality crime scene photographs. Included is instruction in
close-up photography. Mock crime scene scenarios make the training as
realistic as possible. The second day’s lesson is in the evening and
focuses on low light and night time photography.

This course is designed for Crime Scene Investigators, Detectives and
Patrol/Traffic Officers who may be responsible for photographing crime
scenes and accidents. Agencies who have switched from film to digital
and need a better understanding of digital photography and how to use
their new camera will benefit from this course.

This course includes extensive use of hands-on training. We recommend
that you bring the camera, flash and tripod that you will use to photograph
scenes. It is always better to get familiar with the equipment you will be
using. Individual instruction on your equipment will be available if needed.

The instructor, Sr. Investigator Steven Settles has been in Law
Enforcement for 23 years, and has been in the Camden County Prosecutor’s
