Suicide Investigation
Course Overview:
Determining if a death is a suicide, homicide, accidental or natural is an important function of the investigator.
Suicides bring uniques sets of circumstances to the investigation. Recognizing certain indicators can result in
a proper determination. This 2 day intensive seminar is designed to give new and veteran investigators and
crime scene technicians insight into the investigation of deaths suspected to be suicides.
Topics Covered:
This course will cover manner of death; physical evidence and other indications at the scene; proper scene
photography, sketching, documenting and processing; securing and interpreting suicide notes; what
information the Medical Examiner needs and more
Who Should Attend:
Investigators and crime scene investigators whose duties would involve the investigation of human deaths.
Instructor:
Det David Kappler, Cherry Hill NJ Police Dept Crime Scene Unit, has been a crime scene investigator for over
25 years and has investigated hundreds of deaths.
Costs:
The cost for this 2 day, 16 hour course is only $295.00 per student. This training is available only to sworn
law enforcement officers.
