Forensics for Teachers
This one day seminar is designed to provide middle and high school teachers with real information
about how crime scene investigators do their job. If you think “CSI: Las Vegas” is how crime scene
investigations are really conducted you need to come to this seminar!

Topics Covered: We show you the five steps of crime scene processing, how to take crime scene
photographs, develop latent fingerprints using powders, ninhydrin and superglue, collect DNA, take
casts of footwear impressions and tool marks, and identify ballistics information. We also show you
how to use inexpensive, readily available items to use in your classrooms. When you complete this
seminar you will be able to apply invaluable personal experience to your classroom demonstrations.

What is Included: Each participant receives comprehensive handout material including crime scene
checklists, protocols, forms, and resources for training videos and crime scene equipment. Each
teacher will also receive a variety of spent shell casings for ballistics analysis. There will be a hands-
on session where you can try out real crime scene equipment.

A CD of useful PowerPoint presentations and video demonstrations will be available at additional cost.

forensics classes, however any educator would benefit from attending.
